Northeastern Sends Erroneous Acceptance Emails to 205 Law School Students
A school in Massachusetts has sent erroneous acceptance e-mails to 205 law school applicants. This mistake was discovered when the school sent out e-mails to more than 3,900 hopeful students, but only 205 applicants were actually accepted. The university has since issued clarifications and contacted applicants with questions.
Papoutsakis is considering legal avenues
The error was caused by a technical error at Northeastern University, which has apologized to the 205 law students currently in the application process. Former law student Jim Nolan, however, blasted Chancellor Richard Truss and the University, saying that the school needs to fix its systems to prevent similar errors from occurring in the future.
Papoutsakis, a single mother of four, dreamed of attending law school for many years. She is currently applying for Northeastern, but was rejected twice in the past two years. Eventually, she decided to take legal action.
