Bengals QB Joe Burrow Injury Update

A week after suffering a torn ACL in Super Bowl LVI, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is still limited by his injury. The team has not yet set a return date for Burrow, but coach Zac Taylor said the team is giving the third-year quarterback some privacy. The Bengals will allow Burrow to do light drills on a cart while he recovers.

joe burrow tore his ACL in Super Bowl LVI

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow tore his ACL during the Super Bowl. The injury is not life-threatening but he will need to rehab. The injury should not dramatically affect Burrow’s offseason. Despite the injury, he didn’t miss a snap during the game. In fact, he attempted to lead the game-winning drive. Ultimately, he completed 22 of 33 passes for 263 yards and a touchdown.

Although Burrow’s injury isn’t life-threatening, it’s a setback for the 2020 first-round pick. Although he did not appear to go down in the second half, the quarterback appeared to go down after being sacked by Von Miller in the second half. Afterward, he was screaming in pain and limped off the field. However, he returned for the final minutes of the game. While he will need extensive rehab, he is unlikely to undergo surgery.

he had appendectomy to repair it

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has had an appendectomy to repair his appendix on July 27. The injury is expected to keep him out of football for one to four weeks. His father, Joe Burrow Sr., said the quarterback’s recovery could be as long as a few weeks, but the Bengals are being coy.

After undergoing the procedure, Burrow was allowed to return to practice. He watched from a medical cart during practice, but he wanted to be with his teammates physically as well as mentally. While he didn’t reveal how much weight he lost, he was able to start throwing and sprinting a few weeks later.

he will return to practice this week

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will return to practice this week, though he isn’t expected to play this week. Burrow will have a ramp-up period before he returns to the field. He will be able to throw the ball during warmups. He is expected to return to full practice by mid-August. The quarterback hasn’t played much this season because of health concerns, but it’s a good sign he’ll be back at some point.

Joe Burrow has been out since July 26, but his practice time has been limited. The quarterback was unable to participate in practice on Thursday because of the injury. However, he has been jogging around the field and throwing to his receivers. He hasn’t been limping and doesn’t appear to have any impairment, but said it’s good to be back.

he is not a fantasy football concern

The injury isn’t a major concern for fantasy owners. Burrow is still day-to-day, but is expected to be back in practice by mid-August. The Cowboys quarterback underwent an appendectomy on July 26, but the recovery is not expected to take more than two weeks. An appendectomy is a relatively minor surgery, so it shouldn’t negatively affect Burrow’s fantasy value.

However, his injury history isn’t completely without concern. Burrow missed six games last season with an appendix issue, but doctors caught it early enough that he didn’t need surgery. His recovery wasn’t as extensive as many expected, but he lost some core strength in the process. He was also unable to play in preseason. But, he returned to training camp drills just a few weeks ago, so his recovery time won’t be as long as some fear. In fact, he is now aiming for a Week one appearance.
